The FBI found two bombs planted by a terrorist in New Orleans

The suspect in the terrorist attack in New Orleans planted two bombs at the site of the attack, but they did not go off for an unspecified reason. This is stated in a statement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States on January 3.
It is noted that FBI officers found both improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in refrigerator containers, which were left on the streets by Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who carried out the terrorist attack on New Year's Eve, and defused them.
"Explosives specialists from the FBI's Special Victims Unit found one IED, at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Orleans Street, and another at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Toulouse Street. <...> We have obtained surveillance footage that shows Jabbar placing both devices where they were found," FBI spokesman Christopher Raia pointed out.
Why the bombs did not explode as the perpetrator of the attack planned is currently being investigated.
On New Year's Eve in New Orleans, a truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, then the driver got out and started shooting. Law enforcement returned fire and eliminated him. According to the latest reports, at least 10 people were killed and 35 others were injured.
The FBI specified that two police officers were wounded in the shooting, and explosive devices were found at the scene of the tragedy. It is preliminarily established that most of the victims are local residents. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russians, tentatively, were not injured in the incident in New Orleans.
Later, on January 3, the media reported that current U.S. President Joe Biden was planning to visit New Orleans on January 6 to support families whose loved ones were killed in the terrorist attack.
