A G1-class magnetic storm has begun on Earth.

A weak magnetic storm of class G1 has begun on Earth. This was reported on January 4 by leading specialist of the weather center "Phobos" Mikhail Leus.
"After 8 hours and 50 minutes, the Kr index, reflecting the level of perturbations of the geomagnetic field, reached a mark of five units," - said Leus in his Telegram channel.
According to him, during the day the geomagnetic field will be weakly perturbed.
Magnetic storm class G1 is classified as "weak", it has almost no impact on the geomagnetic field.
The day before on the Sun occurred the first powerful flare of class X since the beginning of the year, reported on the website of the Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics. Solar flares depending on the power of X-ray radiation are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and maximum X.
