Russian Kudermetova reached the final of the WTA tournament in Brisbane


Russian tennis player Polina Kudermetova defeated Ukraine's Angelina Kalinina in the semifinal match of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Brisbane and reached the final.
The match ended with the score 6:4, 6:3 in favor of the athlete from Russia. In the next round she will play against the winner of the meeting between Belarusian Aryna Sobolenko, who is currently the current world number one, and Russian Mirra Andreeva.
It is specified that Kudermetova is on the 107th place in the ranking of the best tennis players in the world. She has no wins on her account at WTA tournaments, and at Grand Slam events she did not go further than the first round.
The tournament in Brisbane belongs to the WTA 500 category. It will end on January 5, and the winner will be able to take the prize from the fund of $1.5 million.
Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina will play at the final WTA tournament in Riyadh instead of American Jessica Pegula. The U.S. representative withdrew from the competition due to a knee injury.
