Yakutsk fighter defeats AFU fighter in hand-to-hand combat

Yakut fighter Andrei Grigoryev defeated a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in hand-to-hand combat. This was reported on January 4 in the press service of the all-Russian public movement "People's Front" (ONF).
According to the military man, the fight occurred during the assault in the locality of Trudovoye. Grigoriev and his friend were tasked with planting the Russian flag.
"We put the flag in front of the Ukrainian headquarters, we did not know about it. There we were met by a machine gunner, my friend intentionally. I was behind him, rolled back and ran back," - said Grigoriev.
The fighter noted that at that moment an FPV drone hit him. Grigoriev received shrapnel wounds in the area of the nose, eye and ear. After that, he went into a stone shed and hid from the second drone behind waste paper lying there.
"When the drone hit, he had already started attacking. I look, he's running, but I started attacking him from behind the ajar door. I shoot, I shoot. He falls down, he gets up, he's still running. He threw a grenade into my shed, I went out of the shed to him. I thought that the corpse was already lying there," the military man shared.
The Ukrainian soldier tried to persuade the fighter to surrender, but Grigoryev entered the fight using his Yakut knife. He delivered the first blow to the opponent's leg.
"At that time I already knew for sure that I would not surrender," Grigoriev clarified.
The AFU fighter tried to snatch the knife, and Grigoriev's hand slipped from the handle to the blade, but the Russian attacker eventually managed to overpower his opponent. After the bout, the Ukrainian military man asked to be allowed to leave.
Grigoriev's mother Olga also told Izvestia that she was first told that her son was killed. Because of this, the woman went to the hospital with a heart attack.
"He said that no one was to blame. He was stronger and taller than him. It's just fate. I want to stay alive and that's it," Olga added.
