Witnesses' testimony in the case of the deputy head of the Russian Railways inspection became known

In the case of Yuri Martyanov, deputy head of the inspection of the technical audit center of the infrastructure inspection of Russian Railways, witnesses gave incriminating testimony. This was reported on January 4 by "RIA Novosti" with reference to official court documents.

"The accused Yuri Martyanov, being at liberty, can continue to engage in criminal activity, threaten witnesses in order to change their testimony exposing him," the agency quotes the document.

According to it, Martyanov is accused of preparing a terrorist act.

It is also noted that the collected evidence indicates the presence of accomplices in the crime, with whom Martyanov may come into contact to conceal unidentified evidence or create false ones. To avoid this, the investigation establishes those involved in the crime.

Yuri Martyanov was arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack on January 3. Martyanov's arrest was extended until February 22, 2025. It was specified that he is being held as part of the case of Alexei Demchenko, head of the inspection of the technical audit center of the infrastructure inspection of Russian Railways, accused of participation in a banned terrorist organization.
