U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit the Republic of Korea, Japan and France from January 4 to 9. A statement to this effect was published on the State Department website on January 3.

According to the statement, in South Korea, Blinken will meet "with senior government officials" to discuss bilateral "critical cooperation on world issues" as well as "building on key efforts to promote a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific region."

In Japan, the U.S. secretary of state is set to hold meetings to discuss "progress made by the U.S.-Japan alliance over the past several years" as well as "bilateral, regional and international issues."

"In France, Secretary Blinken will meet with senior French officials as part of our vital partnership to address challenges in Europe, the Middle East and beyond," the publication specified.

Earlier, on December 19, it was reported that the current U.S. President Joe Biden will visit Rome from January 9 to 12. It was specified that Biden during his visit to Italy plans to meet with His Holiness Pope Francis on January 10 to discuss "efforts to promote world peace." The U.S. leader is also scheduled to meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
