Ka-52M crew destroyed an AFU stronghold and manpower in the Kursk border area

The crew of a Ka-52M helicopter has destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) stronghold and manpower in a border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 4.
Army aviation pilots fired missiles at the coordinates of the spotter, who then confirmed the destruction of all targets. After the strike, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps preventing enemy man-portable surface-to-air missiles (MANPADS).
The Ka-52M helicopter was part of a mixed tactical group performing a combat mission to support units of the "North" group.
Earlier, on January 3, Ka-52M helicopter crews disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the Kursk border area. Performing a combat mission to support ground troops, the pilots also destroyed enemy armored vehicles and personnel.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
