Russian military told about the liberation of Novoolenovka in the DNR

Servicemen of the Center group of troops have reported on the liberation of the settlement of Novoolenovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) on the Red Army direction of the special operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 4.

Reconnaissance units of the 30th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, taking advantage of the initiative on the line of contact, entered the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and cut off the AFU garrison from the main forces.

"There were movements at night and over open terrain. There was a stretch when we had to jump into a village through a field. Moved directly one by one, with a distance," - said the scout-gunner Victor Arkhipov.

After that, enemy equipment and manpower of the units that tried to flee the battlefield were destroyed. This was possible thanks to the mine barriers installed in advance on the rear convoy routes.

"Everything went smoothly thanks to the command, clear actions. Everything was very coherent and clear. Mines were put out, on which the enemy's equipment was blown up," shared the deputy platoon commander Anton Kurlynov.

The assault on the settlement was carried out in small groups. After the liberation of Novoolenovka, Russian servicemen installed the tricolor on one of the buildings. According to Viktor Arkhipov, civilians were waiting for the Russian army to liberate the village.

Theliberation of Novoolenovka became known on December 30. On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the liberation of the village.

Earlier, on December 29, the ministry said that the Russian army had liberated the village of Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. It was specified that the Russian military struck the living force and equipment of three mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the AFU, a brigade of marines, a brigade of tera defense and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian national police.
