Iran says it is ready to enter nuclear doctrine talks with the West


The Iranian authorities are ready to immediately start negotiations on the country's nuclear doctrine with Western countries, if it will be possible to conclude a new agreement. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arkachi on January 3.
"We remain ready to enter constructive negotiations on our nuclear program without delay. Negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement," IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.
Arkachi specified that Iran believes that the changes will be made in order for Western countries to lift sanctions against the state. In addition, the foreign minister added that Iran will wait for the new US government to form its own policy on the issue and only after that negotiations will be held.
Earlier, on December 13, 2024, The Wall Street Journal newspaper, citing informed sources, reported that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is considering preventive airstrikes on Iran in order to prevent the creation of nuclear weapons in the Islamic republic.
