Germany is considering several possible scenarios for ending the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on 2 January with reference to sources in the country's government.

According to them, Russia is interested in one of these scenarios. According to the newspaper, according to it, the conflict in Ukraine may end in 2025. However, the media outlet noted that "the signals sent by the Kremlin may point to a very special scenario."

Earlier, on December 30, Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that there were no signs pointing to the imminent end of the Ukrainian conflict or any of its phases.

On December 29, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump intends to end the conflict in Ukraine, but probably believes that this is possible if Kiev is strong. Scholz said he would not disclose the content of his talks, but he is confident that a coordinated policy on Ukraine between the United States and Europe, including Washington and Berlin, will succeed.

Before that, on December 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters that Russia was seeking to end the conflict in Ukraine, not to freeze it. The head of state commented on the information about the possible end of the conflict in 2025 with a Russian proverb: "This is what they say among our people, yes, you should drink honey with your mouth.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
