Belarus has banned Russian buckwheat "Farmer" from Barnaul producer Dary Polyi LLC because of the long cooking process. The corresponding information appeared in the register of dangerous products of the state standard of the country.

It is specified that the order is dated December 30, it will take effect from January 11. The reason for the ban of the product was the indicator on digestibility, which amounted to 29 minutes with a norm of no more than 25 minutes.

"The product has been given the appearance and certain properties, but at the same time it cannot be identified as the product it is claimed to be," TASS quoted on the "Dangerous Products" website.

According to the agency, the product does not meet the requirements of the Customs Union's technical regulations "On the safety of food products", "Food products in terms of their labeling", as well as GOST 5550-2021 "Buckwheat groats. Technical conditions".

Earlier, December 11, the press service of the regional food industry department of Belarus reported that the manufacturer of buckwheat buckwheat groats of the highest grade, LLC "Vega-engineering" from Altai Krai, which fell under the ban because of the long cooking process, is working with partners to clarify the circumstances.
