Current U.S. President Joe Biden plans to visit New Orleans on January 6 to support families whose loved ones were killed in the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency on January 3.

"The president and first lady [Jill Biden] will travel to New Orleans on Monday, Jan. 6," the media outlet wrote.

On New Year's Eve in New Orleans, a truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, then the driver got out and started shooting. Law enforcement returned fire and eliminated him. According to the latest reports, at least 10 people were killed and 35 others were injured.

The FBI specified that two police officers were wounded in the shooting, and explosive devices were found at the scene of the tragedy. It is preliminarily established that most of the victims are local residents. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russians, tentatively, were not injured in the incident in New Orleans.
