Estonia to receive US HIMARS MLRS in the coming weeks

Estonia will receive American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) in the next few weeks. This was announced by the head of the Estonian Defense Ministry Hanno Pevkur on January 3.

"In a few weeks we will receive HIMARS from the US," the minister was quoted by ERR TV and radio company as saying.

As ERR writes with reference to the words of the head of the Defense Ministry, the US military stationed in Estonia has already trained the country's army personnel to use these MLRS.

At the end of November last year, a NATO naval group of six ships, including British, Norwegian, French, Dutch and Belgian, arrived in the Estonian capital Tallinn. ERR reported Estonian Navy chief Ivo Värk as saying that the group was acting as the "main strike fist" of the military-political bloc's maritime forces. He also noted that the ships' stay in Estonia is linked to NATO's "regional defense plans".
