10 people were hospitalized after a massive road accident in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the republic on January 3.

The mass accident involving about 95 cars occurred in Kazakhstan on the 153rd km of the highway Astana - Petropavlovsk near the village of Zhanatalap.

"In the course of emergency rescue operations, 71 people were evacuated, eight of them children. They were taken to heating points and provided with hot meals. Another 11 people were rescued, of whom 10 were hospitalized in the district hospital of Makinsk", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel of the department.

A total of 152 people and 68 units of equipment are involved in the rescue work.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations also specified that rescuers continue to help evacuate vehicles. Preliminarily, about 30 cars will be transported from the accident site to Astana and Shchuchinsk.

December 29, on the federal highway M-5 "Ural" in the Chelyabinsk region there was an accident involving four cars. It was reported that the driver of Nissan Qashqai drove into the oncoming traffic lane and crashed into a Toyota Corolla, then collided with the oncoming Ford Mondeo and oncoming Nissan Note. The driver of the Toyota died on the spot. His two passengers, a man and a woman, were hospitalized with various injuries. The driver of the Nissan Qashqai and his female passenger were also hospitalized.
