Anapa has increased the number of equipment for beach clearing after tanker accident

On the beaches of Anapa increased the number of engineering equipment to clear oil products after the wreck of tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" in the Black Sea. This was reported on January 3 in the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai.

"For each site assigned more engineering equipment, which was previously lacking - a total of 251 dump trucks and loaders were sent to the coastline. And in general, more than 550 units of equipment and more than 7 thousand people are involved in beach cleaning," - noted in the Telegram-channel of the headquarters.

The decision was made to optimize the system of delivery of people to hard-to-reach places of the coastal territory and faster removal of sand contaminated with fuel oil.

Also in the operative headquarters added that about 15 thousand bags of fuel oil and oil-contaminated sand are collected daily on the beaches of Anapa and Temryuksky district.

Liquidation of the consequences of the oil spill will go on all New Year's vacations

January 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations indicated that employees of the department and volunteers collected more than 71.3 thousand tons of contaminated sand and soil from the coast of Kuban. Rescuers surveyed 56 square kilometers of coastline from the water. Collection and removal of fuel oil contaminated soil on the 63 km stretch of the coast is underway.

On January 2, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported that after the crash of tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" 2.4 thousand tons of oil products fell into the Black Sea.

Earlier, on December 30, 2024, Igor Galala, the head of the Krasnodar region's operational headquarters, said that the main work on cleaning the Kuban coast from fuel oil could be completed in a week in the absence of new emissions.

Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels. It was specified that one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group has been set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the accident.
