Russian Armed Forces carried out massive and 12 group strikes on Ukrainian facilities during the week

Russian troops carried out one massive and 12 group strikes with high-precision weapons against facilities in Ukraine over the past week. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on 3 January.

In particular, a factory for the production of gunpowder charges, infrastructure of military airfields, ammunition depots, fuel bases and energy facilities were hit.

"Assembly shops, storage sites for strike drones and uncrewed boats, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries were hit," the ministry added.

Also during the week, 559 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were shot down. In addition, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed 11 uncrewed boats.

Before that, on January 1, it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces struck a Ukrainian energy facility, the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as the assembly site of the AFU's marine drones. In addition, the AFU's manpower and military equipment in 142 areas were hit. On the same day, the Black Sea Fleet forces destroyed three uncrewed boats.

On December 31 last year, the Defense Ministry reported the destruction of eight uncrewed AFU boats by the Black Sea Fleet forces overnight. In addition, overnight air defense forces destroyed 17 Ukrainian drones over Crimea.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
