- Last year, more than 150 objects in Moscow were restored to their historical appearance

Restorers have restored 157 historical objects in Moscow over the past year. Another 500 are in the works, said in his personal blog, the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.
For example, in 2024 specialists completed work in one of the oldest buildings of Arbat - "Memorial Apartment of A.S. Pushkin". They tidied up the balcony and roof, strengthened the walls, returned the facade to its historical color. Inside they paid special attention to the ceiling molding decor: cornices and rosettes, as well as parquet - recreated the original pattern.
Also the head of the city called "surgically delicate" work on the preservation of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul on Novaya Basmannaya. It was built in 1705 by decree of Peter the Great.
Here the restorers faced a surprise: under the 45-meter-high dome, 40 masterpieces of church oil painting were hidden behind five layers of wallpaper. The wallpaper was removed with an ophthalmic scalpel only 2.2 cm long. On the areas where the painting was not preserved, fresh paintings were made.
In addition, the capital restored the House of Artists of the Bolshoi Theater in Brusov Lane, the club of the plant "Kauchuk", the bell tower of the church in the name of St. Great Martyr Catherine Nikolo-Rogozhskaya on Baumanskaya Street and other objects.
In 2025, it is planned to complete work on another 150 buildings and structures.
