Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Andrei Bulyga fulfilled a dream of Veronika from Rostov-on-Don on January 3 as part of the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" charity event, the press service of the defense ministry reported.

The girl dreamed of a children's kitchen. On behalf of the deputy minister, representatives of the ministry together with Santa Claus came to her home and presented her with a gift.

Veronika is five years old, she is a very creative and active child: she sings, dances, loves to draw, collects mosaics and constructors.

"Our balloon was taken down by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andrey Mikhailovich Bulyga. It was a great surprise for us. We are very grateful to you for fulfilling our wishes. You gave us so many gifts. My daughter is very happy," said Veronica's mother Elena.

The day before, on January 2, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko fulfilled the dream of a boy from the Yaroslavl region as part of the action "Christmas Tree of Wishes". Ten-year-old Dmitry met with the local hockey team "Lokomotiv", was photographed with each of the players and received souvenirs. Later Chernyshenko talked to the boy via video link and asked him about his impressions.

The "Wishing Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been held since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get an opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year.
