The US noted the superiority of the Yasen-M submarines over American submarines

Russian submarines of Project 885M Yasen-M surpass in power all American and NATO vessels. This was reported on December 31 by the American magazine National Interest.

"The US Navy (and the fleets of its NATO allies) are completely inferior in firepower to the Yasen-M class submarines of the Russian Northern Fleet," the publication stressed.

It is specified that "Yasen-M" carries from 24 to 40 missiles and is also designed for the powerful hypersonic missile "Zirkon". As the magazine pointed out, the U.S. has neither its own counterweight to hypersonic weapons, nor significant defensive capabilities to repel Zircon attacks.

According to the publication, the Yasen-M is also designed for close combat with enemy submarines. With its ultra-quiet rigging, the submarine can pursue U.S. subs completely undetected.

"This boat is one of the best submarines Russia has ever produced. It combines enormous firepower, endurance and stealth," the magazine noted.

Earlier, on December 27, the Defense Ministry said the Arkhangelsk Project 885M Yasen-M nuclear-powered submarine cruiser joined the Russian Navy (Navy). The submarine handover ceremony took place at the Sevmash plant of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

On December 21, it was reported that the Arkhangelsk nuclear-powered submarine (SSN) has completed all tests. The program was carried out in accordance with the schedules that were agreed with the Russian Defense Ministry.

Prior to that, on December 20, Russian Navy Chief Moiseyev reported that the Arkhangelsk nuclear submarines would be handed over to the Navy soon. He specified that the need to have such vessels in the fleet is dictated by the need for effective and modern weapons, which are carried by strategic and multipurpose submarines.

On December 8, it became known that Western countries in vain underestimate Project 885M nuclear submarines, as they are capable of covering long distances while remaining completely invisible. They can carry hypersonic Zirkon cruise missiles, which are capable of overcoming any missile defense system (BMD) and inflicting "almost biblical-level destruction."
