TOS-1A "Solntsepek" units destroyed AFU manpower and equipment in the SSO zone

TOS-1A Solntsepek units of the Center group of troops have destroyed personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the liberation of the territories of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 3.

A strike of thermobaric rockets eliminated a fortified stronghold and a control point for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy. This ensured the advancement of the assault detachments of the Central group of troops in the Red Army direction of the special operation, the agency noted. All identified enemy targets were destroyed.

Earlier, on December 30, servicemen of the 130-millimeter M-46 gun of the Center group of troops destroyed a camouflaged command post and an enemy stronghold, disrupting the rotation of AFU units in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. The fire was conducted from a closed firing position at a range of more than 15 kilometers.

Before that, on December 29, a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) of the Center group of forces launched an artillery strike on a UAV control point and an accumulation of AFU manpower and military equipment in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, is still ongoing. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
