Lithuania buys €14 million worth of grenade launchers from Sweden

Lithuania has purchased Carl Gustaf grenade launchers of 84 mm caliber from the Swedish company SAAB Bofors Dynamics for €14 million, the country's Defense Ministry announced on January 2.
"The Defense Resources Agency under the Lithuanian Defense Ministry has concluded a contract with the Swedish company SAAB Bofors Dynamics for the purchase of Carl Gustaf M4 anti-tank grenade launchers of 84 millimeter caliber and spare parts for them. The value of the contract is €14 million," the statement said.
It is specified that the weapons and spare parts will be delivered during 2025-2026.
Earlier, on December 12, the head of the Polish Defense Ministry Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysh criticized the name of the grenade launchers purchased from Sweden. The weapons are named in honor of King Carl X Gustaf of Sweden, who launched the Northern War. During his reign, Swedish troops invaded the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
