The perpetrator of the terrorist attack in New Orleans hours before the attack laid two explosive devices in the city center. This was stated by US President Joe Biden during a speech at the White House on January 2.

"It has been determined that the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in New Orleans is the same man who planted two explosive devices in ice coolers in the French Quarter a few hours before the attack," he said.

As Biden pointed out, the man was also carrying a detonator.

In addition, the American leader confirmed the lack of connection between the terrorist attacks in New Orleans and the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck in Las Vegas. According to him, law enforcement officials are also working to determine whether the suspect has "any contacts or connections abroad or domestically" that could be related to the attack.

On New Year's Eve in New Orleans, a truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, then the driver got out and started shooting. Law enforcement returned fire and eliminated him.

According to the latest reports, at least 14 people were killed and 35 others were injured. The FBI specified that two police officers were wounded in the shooting, and explosive devices were found at the scene of the tragedy.

On January 1, an electric Tesla Cybertruck caught fire near the tower of US President-elect Donald Trump in Las Vegas. Eyewitnesses reported the sounds of explosions and evacuation of the building. It was reported that the incident left one person dead and seven injured.

According to Tesla founder Ilon Musk, the Cybertruck explosion was caused by very large fireworks or a bomb that was in the back of the car. He also called the car explosion a terrorist attack and emphasized that the strength of the pickup truck's material prevented more damage from the blast.

Police later identified the suspect in the Tesla Cybertruck electric car bombing outside the Trump International Hotel. He turned out to be 37-year-old Matthew Lievelsberger from Colorado Springs, who previously served in the U.S. Army.
