In Ukraine, a man died at the military enlistment office in Sumy from head injury

A 40-year-old man in the Ukrainian city of Sumy has died of a head injury suffered at the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military recruitment office in Ukraine). This was reported by the SumyToday news portal on January 2.
"The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance at 8:45 (9:45 Moscow time - Ed.). The patient was hospitalized in the intensive care unit with suspected head injury. Resuscitation measures were carried out, but the injuries were severe, because of which the patient died on December 31," the comment of the deputy director of the institution for communication issues Nikolai Savchenko is quoted.
As noted in the publication, the police opened a criminal case on the fact of infliction of bodily injuries that caused the death of the victim.
Later, the press service of the Department of national police in Sumy region reported that the fatal injury to the man was caused by a military man of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU), who got into a dispute with him.
"During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcers established that between a local resident and a serviceman there was a sudden conflict. In the midst of the quarrel, the serviceman did not restrain his anger and inflicted bodily injuries on the man," - stated in the message of the police in the social network Facebook (owned by the recognized extremist company Meta, its activities are banned in Russia).
The military faces restriction or imprisonment for a term of three to five years under part 1 of article 119 of the Criminal code of Ukraine ("Murder committed by negligence").
Earlier, on December 22, a man who tried to save his son from mobilization was killed in the military recruitment office in Odessa. Ex-member of the Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmytruk in his Telegram-channel said that the man was shot, and also noted that killings in the TCC have become the norm for Ukraine.
Before that, on December 16, it was reported that employees of the TCC in the Ternopil region of Ukraine killed a man forcibly mobilized by them. The man was forcibly put into a TCC vehicle in the village of Velyka Luka. Two days later he called his relatives and asked them to bring him his belongings and documents. When the relatives arrived at the TCC, they were told that the relative had already been released. The man's body was found on December 12 on the highway.
Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. Then the President of the country Volodymyr Zelensky (powers expired in May) signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country. In April 2024, the head of the Kiev regime approved the law on tougher mobilization.
