Kalnitskaya, former director of the Peterhof Museum-Reserve, has died


Former Director General of the Museum-Reserve "Peterhof" Elena Kalnitskaya died at the age of 72. This was reported on January 2 in the press service of the Museum-Reserve.
"With deep regret we inform: today, January 2, at the 73rd year of life after a long illness died Elena Yakovlevna Kalnitskaya," - wrote in the message.
It is noted that the cause of death was a prolonged illness.
Elena Kalnitskaya was born in Leningrad on September 6, 1952. Since 1990 she worked as head of the branch "Mikhailovsky Castle" in the Russian Museum. In the position of Director General of the museum-reserve Kalnitskaya was from 2009 to 2023. It is specified that under her leadership were carried out restoration works of park ensembles and palaces.
