Rospotrebnadzor reported complications of the flu virus dominating in Russia

Rospotrebnadzor has told about possible complications of the flu virus dominating in Russia. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the agency on January 1.

They noted that the dominant in the Russian Federation is the influenza virus A(H1N1)2009. It can cause severe complications within 24 hours, the most frequent of which is pneumonia. It develops in 65% of cases and can lead to death.

"In the Russian Federation there is an increase in the activity of acute respiratory viral infections, typical for this time of year", - TASS reports the words of Rospotrebnadzor.

The agency emphasized that the most effective way to prevent influenza is vaccination, and urged Russians to be more attentive to their health - regularly wash their hands with soap and treat gadgets with antiseptics.

Earlier, on December 28, in St. Petersburg, the restrictions imposed to combat coronavirus infection were extended for 2025 due to the need to maintain preventive measures in conditions where there is a risk of the infection spreading.
