WHO condemned the AFU attack on the hospital in Aleshki on December 30


The World Health Organization (WHO) has condemned the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the central hospital of the town of Alyoshki in Kherson Region on 30 December using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This was reported in the press service of the organization on January 2.
As a result of the attack of the AFU, the deputy chief doctor Vasily Borisov was killed. Chief doctor Vladimir Kharlan was seriously wounded, this is the second attempt on his life.
"WHO condemns in the strongest possible terms all attacks on the [healthcare] system, wherever they occur," TASS quoted a spokesperson for the organization as saying.
It also noted that it seeks to document and investigate attacks on healthcare facilities through an online surveillance system launched in late 2017.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the organizers of the drone attack on the hospital building in Aleshki in the Kherson region and other crimes of Kiev will be punished inevitably.
Kherson Region government spokesman Andriy Alekseenko said that the AFU launched a repeat strike on the hospital in Aleshki and burned down a mothballed school in Novaya Kakhovka. There are no casualties as a result of the repeated attack of the AFU on Kherson region.
The AFU has been shelling Russian territories on a daily basis amid the special operation to defend Donbas, the start of which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
