The number of Ukrainian citizens who are ready to bear the hardships of the conflict has dropped from 63% to 57%. This follows from the data of a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KMIS).

The population was polled from December 2 to 17 by telephone interview. A total of 985 respondents took part in the survey.

According to its results, 57% of respondents said that they were ready to tolerate the conflict as long as necessary, and 18% found it difficult to answer.

"To a greater extent there was not a decrease, actually, in the margin of safety of Ukrainians, but there was an increase in uncertainty," - noted on the website of KMIS.

In August, KMIS published the results of a social survey, according to which almost 60% of Ukrainians believe that Kiev should start negotiations with Moscow. In addition, according to the survey, the country's residents over the past year worst assess the activities of Parliament and the government.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.

The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On 4 October of the same year, a decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine on the impossibility of holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin was put into effect.
