On January 2, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko fulfilled a dream of a boy from the Yaroslavl Region within the framework of the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" campaign.

Ten-year-old Dmitry met with the local Lokomotiv ice hockey team, had his picture taken with each of the players and received souvenirs. His mom said he became interested in hockey three years ago.

"We saw that the boy was granted a wish that year - a meeting with the players. This year we tried to apply too, and our wish came true," she shared.

Chernyshenko talked to the boy via video link, asked him about his impressions, and also admitted that he himself got up on skates quite late.

"When I was assigned to head the Continental Hockey League after the Sochi Olympics, I didn't know how to skate at the time, but our president Vladimir Putin said: "What are you doing, I also started skating as an adult, let's not get fancy, go and skate, start". I was 50 years old when I first got on skates, as there was no ice in the place where I grew up, it was the south of our country", - said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry thanked Chernyshenko for the fulfillment of his dream.

Chernyshenko took part in the action "Christmas Tree of Wishes" on December 23. From the Christmas tree installed in the Government House Chernyshenko removed three cards with children's wishes. Thus, Deputy Prime Minister will help seven-year-old Alexander from the Rostov region to meet with Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics and president of the All-Russian Federation of Fijital Sports Nikita Nagorny. Another postcard was from 12-year-old Mikhail from Volgograd region, who dreams of receiving a basketball as a gift.

The "Wish Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of Firsts" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get an opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year.
