Air defense forces destroyed four Ukrainian drones over Belgorod Region


Russian air defenses have destroyed four drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) over Belgorod Region, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported on 2 January. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 2.
"On January 2, from 08:00 Moscow time to 11:00 Moscow time, on-duty air defense means destroyed four Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of Belgorod region," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, the governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz reported four destroyed Ukrainian drones over the territory of the region. As a result of the attack there are no casualties and destruction.
Also on January 2, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense forces destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over five Russian regions. It is specified that three drones were eliminated over the Belgorod region, four each - over the Voronezh and Kursk regions, and one each - over the Voronezh and Kaluga regions.
The day before, on January 1, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that a Ukrainian UAV attack on a car in the region's Volokonovsky district left two civilians injured.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
