Part of the houses in Irkutsk remained without light due to damage to the power line. This was reported by the Governor of the region Igor Kobzev on January 2.

According to him, the restoration of power supply in two areas is planned to be completed during the day.

"In the first case, there is no electricity in three administrative buildings and one apartment building on Rosa Luxemburg Street. In the second case, there is no electricity in 26 private houses in the Novo-Lenino neighborhood," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Earlier, on November 27, 2024, in the Smolensk region more than 19 thousand people were left without light due to bad weather - the region was covered by heavy snowfall. In addition to power engineers and their colleagues from other regions, employees of Smolensk enterprises, forestry and hunting farms, subsoil users, road builders, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and volunteers helped to eliminate the consequences, said then regional governor Vasily Anokhin.
