From the beaches of Anapa and Temryuksky district removed almost 73 thousand tons of contaminated sand. This was reported on January 2 in the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.
"As of the morning of January 2 from the beaches of Anapa and Temryuksky district removed almost 73 thousand tons of oiled sand. More than half of this volume took the site of temporary accumulation in the farm Voskresensky - 38 thousand tons. <...> It will be able to take at least 200 thousand tons of soil contaminated with oil products", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel of the headquarters.
It was also reported that the export to the recycling enterprises is temporarily suspended - they have collected the maximum volume of soil for processing.
In total, four specialized companies of Kuban accept sand for recycling.
Earlier, December 30, 2024, the head of the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region Igor Galala said that the main work on cleaning the Kuban coast from fuel oil can be completed in a week in the absence of new emissions.
December 28, the Russian Ministry of Transport reported that all areas of pollution, identified after the tanker crash, had been cleaned in the Kerch Strait. At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, said that there was still a threat of fuel oil leakage into the Black Sea from the sunken ships.

In addition, the region introduced a federal level emergency situation regime (ES). On December 28, the emergency regime of regional character was introduced in Crimea.
Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group has been set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
