Ukraine reported the evacuation of 11,000 people from Kharkiv Region.

Over the past few months, the Ukrainian authorities have evacuated about 11,000 residents from the Kupyansk direction in Kharkiv Region. This was reported by the head of the military civil administration of the region, Oleh Sinegubov, on 2 January.
People were evacuated from Kupyansk and nearby settlements. He noted that the evacuation continues, but its pace has slowed down considerably. First of all, this measure is taken in respect of families with children, adds "Gazeta.Ru".
"Over the past few months, almost 6.5 thousand people have been evacuated from the Kupyansk direction, from Borovskoye - almost 4.5 thousand", - said Sinegubov on air of the Ukrainian TV channel "Rada".
Earlier, on October 15, 2024, it was reported that the Kiev authorities announced the mandatory evacuation of all civilians from the city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region, which is under Ukrainian control. The reason for the evacuation, according to the authorities, was the inability to provide heating and electricity to homes in the town.
Later, on December 11, a forced evacuation was announced in the Kiev-controlled village of Malaya Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhya Region. The local police department noted that 22 people had been evacuated from the village by that time, seven more left on their own. Some remained in their homes. The Kiev authorities regularly evacuate the population from the territories under their control under the pretext of "security issues".
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
