Ukraine says infrastructure in AFU-controlled Zaporizhzhya damaged


Infrastructure facilities in the part of Zaporizhzhya Region that is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been damaged after explosions. This was reported on Thursday, January 2, by the Kiev-appointed head of the regional state administration, Ivan Fyodorov.
He noted that the explosions occurred last night in several localities in the region.
"There are reports of destruction of infrastructure facilities," Fedorov pointed out in his Telegram channel.
It is not specified which objects we are talking about. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the information about the explosions.
Earlier on January 2, the Ukrainian publication "Strana.ua" reported that there were explosions in Kanev, Cherkasy region, amid an announced air alert. According to the online map of the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, the air alert was declared in Cherkasy, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
On the same day, explosions were reported in Kiev. An air alert was declared in the city as well as in Kiev Region.
