In Krasnoyarsk Krai, a case of acute intestinal disease (AID) caused by cholera-like vibrio was detected in a Russian woman who arrived from Thailand. This was reported in the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor on January 2.
It is noted that the sick woman vacationed in Phuket from December 14 to 26. It is preliminarily established that she consumed raw oysters. After returning to Krasnoyarsk Krai she developed symptoms of the disease.
A set of anti-epidemic measures was carried out, also the circle of persons with whom the woman had been in contact was determined. They are under medical observation. At present, the sick woman has been discharged from the infectious disease hospital.
Sanitary-quarantine control on board was carried out normally, people with signs of infectious diseases were not found. In connection with the detected case of infectious diseases, disinfection treatment of the aircraft on which the sick Russian woman flew from Thailand was carried out.
Rospotrebnadzor asked Russians to be careful when traveling to countries with equatorial-tropical climate, where infectious and parasitic diseases are widespread, many of which do not occur or have become rare in Russia. To prevent diseases, the agency recommended to consume only tested products and heat-treated meat, fish and seafood, drink bottled or boiled water, and wash fruits and vegetables with safe water.
Earlier, on November 16, Izvestia found worm larvae in canned Primorsky-style pollock liver, which were sold in the Pyaterochka and Dixie retail chains in Moscow and St. Petersburg. "Public Consumer Initiative" sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office and Rospotrebnadzor with a request to withdraw the canned goods from circulation.
Later the same day it was reported that on November 11, canned "Primorsky Pacific shredded pollock liver" was studied by experts of St. Petersburg laboratory. According to the research, no parasite larvae were found in live form, non-viable larvae of nematodes of the genus Anisakis were found.
