Air defense forces destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over five Russian regions

Air defense forces have destroyed 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over five Russian regions overnight. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 2.

"During the past night, 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by on-duty air defense means," - stated in a message in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that three drones were eliminated over the Belgorod region, four each - over the Voronezh and Kursk regions and one each - over the Voronezh and Kaluga regions.

Earlier, on January 1, the Defense Ministry said that air defense forces had eliminated 14 Ukrainian UAVs over five Russian regions. It is specified that two drones were destroyed over Belgorod Region, four - over Voronezh Region, five - over Rostov Region, two - over Tula Region and one - over Orel Region. The attacks were foiled between 20:00 and 22:00 Moscow time.

On the same day, the ministry said 19 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed over five Russian regions. In particular, 10 drones were eliminated over the territory of the Belgorod region, three over the Kursk region and two each over the Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
