On New Year's Eve in France, 984 cars were burned and police detained 420 people. This was reported by the television channel BFMTV on January 1.

"On January 1, 2025, 984 cars were set on fire, 420 people were arrested," the publication said.

It is specified that a total of 90 thousand law enforcement officers were mobilized in France on New Year's Eve in order to contain possible riots.

Earlier, July 15, it was reported that almost 50 cars were burned during the celebration of Bastille Day on July 14 in the French city of Lyon, four police officers were injured in the riots. Police officers arrested four attackers in the course of suppressing the riots.
