Rospotrebnadzor reported an increase in ARVI activity

Rospotrebnadzor has urged Russians to be more attentive to their health in connection with the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections throughout the Russian Federation. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the agency on January 1.

"In the Russian Federation there is an increase in the activity of acute respiratory viral infections, typical for this time of year," - TASS reports the words of Rospotrebnadzor.

It is noted that in the structure of pathogens increases the share of influenza viruses. According to the agency, the dominant is the influenza virus A(H1N1)2009.

It is specified that the flu virus can cause severe complications within 24 hours, the most frequent of which is pneumonia. It develops in 65% of cases and can lead to death. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent influenza.

In Rospotrebnadzor recommended regular hand washing with soap and treat gadgets with antiseptics.

Earlier, on December 28, in St. Petersburg, the restrictions imposed to combat coronavirus infection were extended for 2025 due to the need to maintain preventive measures in conditions of risk of spread of infection.
