President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposed to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo and President Peter Pellegrini to resume cooperation between the countries in the field of trade. This was reported on Wednesday, January 1, in the Telegram channel "Pool of the first.

The Belarusian leader congratulated the President and Prime Minister of Slovakia on the Day of the Republic. It is specified that Minsk is ready to develop partnership with Slovakia in various spheres and proposes to establish diplomatic contact in this regard in the near future.

In his congratulations to Fitzo, Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus is open to fruitful cooperation with Slovakia, which is important not only for the economy, but also for the region as a whole. He expressed confidence that Minsk and Bratislava can prove that dialog is better than confrontation.

The President noted that he sees Fico's actions and statements, which inspire faith in success. He also assured of the seriousness of Belarus' intentions to promote peace in Europe.

In early 2024, Slovakia resumed cooperation with Russia and Belarus in the field of culture. It was specified that the Minister of Culture of Slovakia, Martina Šimkovičová, canceled the order, according to which the republic's cooperation with Russia and Belarus in the field of culture was stopped after February 24, 2022.
