US says Ukraine needs to make territorial concessions

US President-elect Donald Trump will have to agree to large territorial concessions from Ukraine for the sake of ending the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported on January 1 by the American portal 19FortyFive.
"To reach an agreement in line with Russia's position, Ukraine will have to give up significant portions of its territory. <...> This means that Trump will have to agree to a deal that will cede even more Ukrainian territory," the publication said.
In addition, it noted that the future head of the US will have to publicly declare that Ukraine will never join NATO.
According to the author of the article, the conflict for Ukraine has already been lost, and if Trump does not agree to these conditions, Russia will continue the Special Military Operation, as a result of which it will still get what it seeks to get through negotiations.
Earlier in the day, political scientist and military analyst Vadim Mingalev spoke about the West's understanding that it seems impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield at this point, even by joining forces to support Ukraine. Against this backdrop and Donald Trump's victory in the US elections, Western politicians may come to negotiate with Moscow.
On the eve of the German newspaper Die Welt reported that peace talks would be the only way out for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20.
Earlier, on 30 December, Slovak Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kaliniak said that Ukraine would have to accept the loss of some territories.
Prior to that, on December 28, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis expressed the opinion that Trump's position in the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict will become weaker with each day passing after his inauguration, scheduled for January 20.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
