Residents and visitors to Moscow are advised to be careful on January 1 due to the expected increase in wind, snow and icy conditions. The emergency warning was published by the Main Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the capital.
"In connection with the expected meteorological phenomena, the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Moscow recommends: park in safe places, on the street bypass billboards and rickety structures, be careful when driving a car, do not leave children unattended", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that in case of need to contact the hotline of operational services.
Earlier in the day, the Hydrometeorological center reported that on January 1, residents of the capital region expect cloudy weather, precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and rain, ice and up to +2 degrees. Southwest and south wind with a speed of 7-12 m/s with possible gusts up to 17 m/s is forecast.
