A truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This was reported by CBS News on Wednesday, January 1.

"Initial reports indicate the vehicle may have struck a group of people. Injuries are unknown, but fatalities have been reported," the local police office said.
