The Interior Ministry reported no serious accidents during the New Year celebrations

New Year celebrations passed in Russia without serious incidents, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said on January 1.

"In the Russian Federation, New Year celebrations passed without incidents," she wrote in her Telegram channel.

She added that 41.3 thousand employees of internal affairs bodies, servicemen of the Rosgvardia, participants of public law enforcement organizations and representatives of private security structures were engaged in ensuring public order.

On the night of January 1, 2025, the country hosted 3.5 thousand New Year's Eve events with the participation of 2.2 million people, Volk specified. Police officers continue to serve in the places where they were held. The measures taken allowed to prevent any violations of law and order.

Earlier in the day, servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who are on the front line, congratulated Russians on the New Year. They appealed to citizens with a call for unity and mutual support, wishing health, prosperity and good luck in 2025, and expressed confidence in victory.
