Russian servicemen in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone have become practically elusive for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by The New York Times on December 31.

According to the newspaper, the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces have achieved this result by using electric scooters, motorcycles and quad bikes. Thanks to this equipment, servicemen can quickly disperse along the battle line.

"Hitting just one piece of equipment carrying 15 people can be quite easy. But when those 15 people are riding electric scooters, it's a very big problem," the newspaper quotes AFU officer Dmitry Pavlenko-Kryzheshevsky as saying.

Earlier, on December 24, servicemen of the 15th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Center group of troops who took part in the liberation of the settlement of Novopustynka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) described the course of the assault, where motorcycles and buggies were used.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region
