The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have launched a missile strike on the Belovskyy district of Kursk Region. This was reported on January 1 by Alexander Khinshtein, interim governor of Kursk region.

"Despite the coming of the New Year, Ukrainian Nazis continue their criminal actions. Thank God, without success. In the very first minutes of the new year, 2025, the AFU launched a missile strike on the Belovo district of Kursk region," the message in his Telegram channel reads.

Khinstein pointed out that there were no casualties as a result of the attack, a gas distribution cabinet near the settlement of Giryi was damaged. Its restoration will begin in the morning.

Earlier in the day, the mayor of Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Ivan Prikhodko reported that the AFU militants struck the center of the city. It is noted that the arrival of a shell of militants of the armed formations of Ukraine (AFU) was recorded on the roadway on Ostapenko Street.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
