Pensions in Russia were indexed from January 1

From January 1, 2025 in Russia increased pensions. This is reported by "RIA Novosti" with reference to the budget of the Social Fund of Russia for 2025.

On the eve of the head of the Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov said that the indexed pension from the beginning of 2025 will receive about nine million working pensioners in Russia.

November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the social pension will be indexed by 14.75%. After indexation, its amount will be 15,456 rubles on April 1, 2025. In addition, insurance pensions will be increased by 7.3% on January 1, 2025.

Earlier, December 29, Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin recalled the laws that come into force on January 1, 2025. He noted that earlier the law on the resumption of indexation for working pensioners was adopted, as well as from January 1, 2025 the minimum wage will increase. This will increase the wages of 4.2 million workers - mainly in the public sector, as well as increase the size of a number of social benefits and payments, Volodin added.

December 28, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov said that insurance pensions for working and non-working pensioners will be indexed by 7.3% from January 1, 2025, also in February they will be increased to the level of actual inflation. It was noted that additional indexation of pensions will affect about 37 million people.
