Media reported about lifting of restrictions on import of Russian wheat to Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan will not extend the restriction on imports of Russian wheat, which was introduced on August 21 and expires on January 1. This was reported December 31 by Kazakh agricultural portal Eldala.kz with reference to the data of the Ministry.
Import of Russian wheat to Kazakhstan in 2025 will be carried out without restrictions. However, the situation in the market will be monitored for the need to introduce any measures.
"The question of introducing any non-tariff measures to regulate imports of wheat will be decided taking into account the situation in the grain market, in particular: the stock of grain, the level of supply and demand in the market, the need to protect the interests of domestic producers and taking measures to combat "gray imports" and illegal re-export schemes," - specified in the Ministry.
Earlier, on October 19, Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on imports of buds and cut flowers from Kazakhstan due to non-compliance with Russian standards phytosanitary certificates. The temporary restrictions began to take effect on October 21, 2024, the date of their end was not reported.
Before that, on October 17, Russia imposed temporary restrictions on imports of tomatoes, peppers, melons, wheat and other products from Kazakhstan. The appeal to the Kazakh authorities to solve the situation with sanitary treatment of exported products, according to Russian representatives, did not yield any results.
