Lawyer reminded about the need to replace driver's license in the new year

Drivers with expired licenses need to replace them in the near future in order not to get a fine. This was told by lawyer Alexander Khaminsky in a conversation with the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" on December 31.
He recalled that the rights are renewed for three years. Therefore, motorists, whose rights expired in January 2022, should in the next few months to issue a new document. To do this, it is necessary to apply, provide a health certificate and pay the state duty. The fastest way to get a license is to get it directly from the traffic police, but if it is done at the MFC, it may take up to nine days.
Khaminsky drew attention to an important nuance. Thus, the extension of the license for three years applies to those whose term expired from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023. Despite this, many drivers still believe that the license is extended for six years, and can get a fine of Br5 to Br15 thousand for driving with an expired document.
Earlier in the day, the traffic police also urged drivers to replace the license expired in 2022. The agency reminded that the owners of invalid rights will have to pass a medical examination, pay the established state duty and get a new license by applying to the traffic police.
December 30, on the eve of the New Year vacations, the State Automobile Inspectorate reminded drivers about the inadmissibility of driving while intoxicated. Mass checks on the roads to identify drivers who got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol will be carried out throughout the holidays in all regions of the country.
