In the U.S., 10 people were injured when a Lego structure collapsed


As a result of the fall of part of a large Lego installation in the city of Peabody, Massachusetts, ten people were injured, six of them - children. This was reported on December 31 by CBS News with reference to local authorities.
It is noted that the injuries received are "minor" scratches and cuts. The victims were taken to Salem Hospital and Lahey Medical Center in Peabody.
According to the fire department, the balloons were about to be released from nets inside the family entertainment center. The net was attached to a structure about 2.5 meters high. Staff pulled on it too hard and the figure fell on guests below.
The installation was closed for a while after the incident, but was soon reopened.
Earlier on December 23, one person was killed when a bridge carrying three trucks collapsed in Brazil. Two more victims were rescued and taken to a hospital in the region, while another five people were missing. The cause of the collapse of the structure is established.
