In Colombia they found more than 5 tons of cocaine hidden in leeks. This was reported by the President of the country Gustavo Petro on December 31.

According to him, such a quantity of illicit substances was confiscated during the operation of law enforcement agencies against the organization of drug traffickers "Clan of the Bay".

"About 5.7 tons of cocaine were found in the open sea near Acapulco and in leeks on a Panamanian ship in banana boxes," RIA Novosti quoted Petro's statement as saying.

In addition, excavators used for illegal gold mining in the state of Antioquia were also destroyed.

Earlier, on December 17, the Pomeranian department of the Polish Border Guard seized liquid cocaine worth $1.85 million from the attackers in the Lublin province. It added that the operation involved the Customs Service of the Czech Republic. The drug shipment was loaded onto a container ship in Panama and was supposed to enter Poland through a European port and the Czech city of Ostrava.
