A number of cities in the UK canceled New Year's Eve events due to a storm warning. The Guardian reported on December 30 that.

"The predicted strong winds have led to the cancellation of events in honor of 2025 in such places as Blackpool, Newcastle Quay, the Isle of Wight, Bangor in north Wales and Ripon in North Yorkshire," the newspaper wrote.

The newspaper, citing event organizers, noted that the Hogmanay festival in Edinburgh has been canceled due to predicted high winds and rain in Scotland.

However, the publication notes that the New Year's fireworks on the Thames in London will not be canceled, but the control of weather conditions continues.

The day before it was reported that in Moscow Red Square will be closed from 18:00 on December 31 to 8:00 on January 1, 2025. The exception is the GUM skating rink, which operates according to its schedule.
